AI, Jobs & Apprenticeships: Your Questions Answered
Something good happened this week.
A viewer — I will call him Mark — came back to the clinic. A few weeks ago he asked how to prepare for an interview at short notice. He followed the advice. He got the job offer. He starts this week.
That is what the 4 AM clinic is for.
Between 28 and 31 March, three topics kept coming up. AI and jobs. The hardest roles to find right now. And HE Diplomas — a topic that came up for the first time in over a year of doing these lives.
Here is what I said.
Congratulations, Mark 🎉
Mark joined an earlier livestream to ask how to prepare for an interview on short notice. He took the advice. He went in ready. He was offered the job.
Mark is proof the advice works. If you have a question — bring it to the 4 AM clinic on TikTok. It might be the question that changes everything.

Will AI Take My Job?
This is the question I receive more than any other. It comes up in livestreams, in comments, in messages. I understand why. The headlines are frightening.
But here is some context.
Think back to the mid-1980s. Computers entered classrooms. By the late 1980s, the internet was creeping into homes. By the mid-1990s, most households had it. At the same time, businesses were replacing mainframe computers with desktop machines.
The predictions were alarming. Accountants would become obsolete. Teachers would be replaced. Brick-and-mortar shops would vanish. Millions of jobs would disappear.
None of that happened. Some jobs changed. Some disappeared. But new ones emerged. There was a transformation — not a catastrophe.
AI will follow the same pattern. Some roles will shrink. New opportunities will emerge. The biggest risk is not AI itself. It is refusing to adapt.
If you work in IT or coding, the picture is similar. AI needs instructions. Its output needs checking. Errors need fixing. Computer science skills are still in demand — the work just looks different now. Those who learn to work alongside AI will be in a stronger position than those who resist it.
Still not sure how AI affects your specific situation? That is worth a conversation. Book a free 15-minute call with Leap Forward Careers and we can work through it together.

The Hardest Jobs to Find Right Now
A viewer asked which jobs are hardest to find. It is a broad question, so let me give you some context.
Entry-level roles. Retail, hospitality, and graduate positions exist — but there are fewer of them. Competition is intense. Job searches take longer. If you are in this space, your strategy needs to work harder than it used to.
Two changes hit at the same time. First, the National Insurance rise for businesses in April 2025. Second, the Employment Rights Act. Both made hiring more expensive and riskier. Businesses are being cautious. Some are shifting towards agencies, which offer fixed costs and carry the admin burden.
Longer search times are normal right now. That does not mean the jobs are gone. It means your approach to finding them needs to be sharper. Leap Forward Careers can help with that.
IT and coding roles. This one comes up a lot. Partly AI, partly outsourcing — and outsourcing in IT has been common for well over a decade. I saw it in 2012 when I worked in IT, years before AI was a household name.
Does AI mean coding is finished? No. AI still needs human instructions, quality checking, and correction. The shape of the work changes. The need for the work does not disappear.

Is an HE Diploma Worth It?
In a year of doing these livestreams, this was the first time anyone asked about HE Diplomas. It was a great question — thank you for bringing it.
Here is my honest view.
An HE Diploma is a Level 3 qualification. It is not a professional qualification. In a market that increasingly values experience over paper credentials, I do not see strong employment value in an HE Diploma on its own.
There may be a slight edge for some entry-level roles or apprenticeships. But I think its real value lies elsewhere — as a bridge to higher education. If university is the goal and you need a route in, an HE Diploma can help.
For employment alone? It is not a strong investment.
Qualifications, apprenticeships, and experience all carry different weight depending on what you want to do. If you want a clear-headed view of what makes sense for your situation, book a free 15-minute call and we can work through it.

How to Find an Apprenticeship
Several viewers asked where to find apprenticeship listings. Let me point you in the right direction.
Start with the UK government’s official apprenticeship listing site. It is the most complete and up-to-date source available. If you do not find what you are looking for there, check directly with organisations that interest you — many advertise apprenticeships on their own websites rather than through job boards.
I do not share direct links during livestreams. Based on past experience, I believe sharing links affects my reach on the platform. But a quick search will get you there.
If you are considering an HE Diploma specifically to improve your chances of an apprenticeship, the diploma may give a slight edge in some applications. That said, experience and a strong personal statement matter more than the qualification alone.
